The specification that stops a repair dead is hex size, the flats the socket grips. The 5/8 in and 13/16 in split is real, and I hit it on the bench: a 5/8 in socket would not pass over the 13/16 in hex on plug 4, even though both plugs shared the same 14 mm thread.

Where the sources disagree. Two conflicts, both in hex, both worth knowing. First, several charts list the RCJ7Y and BPMR7A pairing at 13/16 in; every one I measured came in at 5/8 in.

The Craftsman on my bench made the point better than the table does. The deck carried a Craftsman badge and the blower housing carried a Briggs and Stratton decal, and only one of those two labels told me what to buy.

Two of the five arrived off specification, and the worst was 0.026 in, tight enough to matter on a cold start. A third had a ground strap sitting visibly off centre from the electrode.
