Reach the owners who're about to buy or fix a mower.

Mower Mentor is the independent home of US mower intent - researching a machine, comparing options, maintaining it, and repairing it. We work with a small number of brand partners each quarter, with editorial control we don't negotiate.

Who reads Mower Mentor

Readers in a decision window.

Our readers arrive from Google with a specific mower question and a same-session decision to make. We cover four moments in the mower ownership journey - researching a machine, comparing options, maintaining it, and repairing it - and we cover only those four.

  • 01 · Research

    Sizing up a mower

Reading up on mower types, deck sizes, drive systems, and the spec trade-offs before they spend a dollar.

    Sample query

    best self-propelled lawn mower

  • 02 · Compare

    Weighing the options

Gas vs. battery vs. riding, which brand holds up, and whether the upgrade is worth it for their yard.

    Sample query

    ego vs ryobi electric mower

  • 03 · Maintain

    Keeping it running

Sharpening blades, changing oil, winterizing, and the seasonal care that keeps a mower cutting clean.

    Sample query

    how to sharpen mower blades

  • 04 · Repair

    When it won't start

Troubleshooting a no-start, swapping a carburetor or spark plug, and knowing what a DIY owner can actually fix.

    Sample query

    why won't my mower start

Coverage stops at the mower itself. We write about buying mowers, mower types, brands and models, troubleshooting and repair, maintenance and seasonal care, parts and accessories, and mowing technique - not landscaping services, lawn care chemicals, or general home and garden news. Pitches in those categories are declined at the first email.

Why partners choose us

The trust stack you're buying into.

A partnership is only as valuable as the publication's credibility on the day it ships. Three pillars protect that credibility - each backed by a public policy a buyer can audit before signing.

Independent

No mower brand or manufacturer ownership.

Owned by its editors. No holding company, no mower-brand parent, no manufacturer stake.

Every recommendation we publish is reported on merit, and we put that work on the byline - alongside the senior editor who signed off. Partnerships do not change what we report.

Editorial policy

Tested

Every mower checked against real use.

Every mower tested · Every result dated · Verified in the shop and on real lawns.

Our findings come straight from hands-on testing in the shop and on real lawns, and we date-stamp every result when we verify it. We never repeat a spec claim we haven't confirmed - and we say so in writing.

How We Test

Transparent

Disclosure on every paid placement.

“Paid Partnership” label above the H1 · public corrections log · named bylines on every article.

Sponsored work is labelled before the reader scrolls. The sponsorship policy spells out exactly what a sponsor can and cannot influence, and every substantive correction lands in a public log.

Editorial guardrails

Where we draw the line.

We turn down roughly one inquiry in four. The two columns below are the reason - they protect the readership you're paying to reach.

We will

  • Publish honest writing that helps readers reach a decision.
  • Fact-check your offer and terms against your own published documentation.
  • Label every paid placement clearly, above the H1.
  • Deliver promised impressions and reporting on schedule.
  • Renew partnerships where the work was good.

We won't

  • Change an editorial pick in exchange for payment.
  • Remove a competitor's mention from a best-of guide.
  • Accept a sponsored article that contradicts our tested findings on a mower.
  • Hide the “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership” label.
  • Include affiliate links in a sponsored article.

Common requests we decline

  • Backlink-only requests on the homepage or category pages.
  • Sponsored content that presents medical, legal, or financial advice as editorial.
  • Cryptocurrency, online gambling, or adult-content sponsors.
  • Replacing an existing editorial pick with the sponsor's product.
  • Removing a critical mention of the sponsor's product from existing content.

Mower Mentor

We launched in 2024 to build a US lawn-mower publication that doesn't owe anything to a mower brand, a manufacturer, or a holding company. Partnering with us right now is a chance to help shape what an independent publication's ad program looks like - and to lock in early-partner terms before traffic catches up to the editorial program.

If you're curious whether your service is a fit, send a brief and you'll hear back from me directly within two business days.

Submit a brief

Tell us what you're trying to do.

The basics are enough - we'll come back with a proposal, a price, and a publication date. If we're not a fit, we'll say so plainly.

Frequently asked

The short version.

If your question isn't here, put it in the brief and we'll answer it in our reply.

Ready when you are

Put your brand in front of mower owners mid-decision.

Two business days from your brief to our proposal. The editor-in-chief reads every inquiry himself - no autoresponders, no junior salesperson.
